Get a taste of one of the most famous game reserves in the world on this 4-day safari in Kruger National Park. Stay in a beautiful lodge on the edge of the park or inside the park camps if possible. Spend days spotting the remarkable animals that make this their home – leopards, lions, elephants, giraffe, rhino, hippos, antelope species, buffalo are just some of the wild and wonderful creatures to observe. After exciting days exploring the open savanna, relax in the evenings eating traditional foods and listening to the nocturnal symphony of this incredible destination. Experience more than 2mil hectares of open land, natural resources in a spectacular ecosystem. One of the world most popular game parks! Possible to see the big 7 on your trips through the park- Rhino, lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, hippo and crocodile. Not mentioning all the birdlife and smaller creature that can make your stay an experience of life time!

Itinerary

Day 1 Potchefstroom /Greater Kruger National park

Early morning on Day 1 (around 7am) we depart Potchefstroom, the city of expertise and head off the east on the N12 – N4 Route. An unique experience unfolds as we enter the Greater Kruger National Park ecosystem arriving at our lodge in time for dinner (700km, approx. 7-8 hour travel time including stops along the way for lunch). After some time to settle in, we head off to the shops for some refreshments and dinner. Sundowner drinks are enjoyed at the lodge. Our accommodation depends on availability. We prefer to set you up in a guesthouse, self-catering lodge or tented camp with a 3-4 star rating – see your invoice.

Meals: Breakfast can be included or otherwise brunch at 10-11 in the morning. Dinner is for your own account.

Activity: Stop at Kaapschehoop to search for the wild horses

Day 2 Greater Kruger National Park

One of the largest game reserves in Southern Africa – Kruger National Park is home to over 500 bird species, 100 species of reptile and 150 mammal species, including the Big Five and the endangered African wild dog.

An early rise, as we make our way to the Kruger at 5h00

Our wildlife experience begins as soon as we enter the park; this is a free ranging ecosystem where you can enjoy nature in its true form where some of the amazing animals can be observed inside the park, including the big seven. What you see is what you get- principle counts!

Enjoy breakfast/brunch at one of the picnic spots before continuing through the park. Our entire day will be spent game viewing, bird watching and stopping off at the various waterholes en-route.

We depart the park in the late afternoon and return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation.

Day 3 Greater Kruger National Park

You can sleep in, and after a relaxing breakfast we will book out and take you on a Panoramic Route tour to visit the Blyde River Canyon; Burke’s Luck Potholes; Gods Window and Pinnacle Rock. Take in amazing views at the viewpoint over the awesome Blyde River Canyon and view the Three Rondavels. There is an option for an early morning game drive on an open safari vehicle – bookings essential before departure and only permitted if space is available.

Day 4 Johannesburg

Wake up to a light breakfast of cereals before booking out. Explore the vibrant markets and shops in Graskop before we depart at 10am. An additional option for more adventure is the Big Swing that your guide will point out to you and book if you are interested.

Transfer back to Johannesburg and Potchefstroom (700 km, approx. 9-10hrs). There is time to stop and explore Dullstroom along the way. Here we will introduce you to the fly fishing mekka of Trout in South Africa and we can enjoy lunch at one of the street restaurants included.

You also have the option to exchange the Graskop and Dullstroom stops for a stop at Pilgrims Rest – the historical museum village of the gold digging era!

On arrival in Johannesburg you can be dropped at the airport or carry on to Potchefstroom for expected arrival by 18:00. No accommodation is provided for tonight, but we are able to book you additional accommodation in Johannesburg. Please ask at time of booking. Please don’t book any international flights until after 10pm this evening.
